Reef & Shipwreck Snorkeling Tour in Cancun: Turtles, Cenote & Hotel Pickup
Three environments in one tour — a sea turtle feeding ground, a shipwreck teeming with barracuda, and a freshwater cenote with 100-ft visibility. The Cancun reef and shipwreck tour with turtles and cenote covers the most dramatic snorkel sites without the full-day commitment of the 5-in-1 tour. Hotel pickup is included throughout the Hotel Zone. Here's the full breakdown. (Comparing all your options? See all Cancun snorkeling tours on the homepage.)

Insider Tips for the Reef & Shipwreck Tour
Who Is This Tour Best For?
Not ideal for:
- Young children under 10 — a 7-hour boat tour with multiple transfers is tiring for young kids
- Expectant mothers — speedboat crossings can be rough
- Budget travellers — at $79 this is the higher-price tier; the $39 reef tour covers one outstanding reef without the full-day commitment
FAQ — Reef & Shipwreck Snorkeling Cancun
How does this tour differ from the 5-in-1 tour?
The 5-in-1 tour (tour-2) visits five sites — turtles, reef, MUSA underwater museum statues, shipwreck and cenote. This tour (tour-5) visits three — turtles, shipwreck and cenote. If MUSA and an extra reef stop matter to you, book the 5-in-1. If turtles, wreck and cenote are your priorities and you want a shorter boat day, this tour is the more focused choice.
Are sea turtle sightings guaranteed?
No tour can guarantee wildlife sightings, but sea turtle sightings are near-certain on this tour in season (June–November, during nesting). Year-round, the guide visits proven feeding grounds where turtles appear most days. Reviews confirm turtle sightings on the vast majority of departures.
Is the cenote included in the price or an add-on?
The cenote visit is included in the tour price. Some cenotes charge a small additional entrance fee ($5–10 USD) payable in cash to the local site operator — confirm with your guide on the day.
What Snorkelers Say
The shipwreck was incredible — 10+ barracuda hovering around the hull, eels poking out of every crack, and the whole structure covered in coral. The cenote was completely different and just as impressive. A perfect day.
We counted six sea turtles at the first stop. The guide positioned the boat perfectly — we were in the water within 30 seconds and the turtles were completely unfazed by us. One surfaced right next to me. I cried.
Hotel pickup was seamless, timing was exactly as promised. The three sites were very different from each other — loved that variety. Guide was excellent and translated between English and Spanish for our mixed group.
